The Sculpture: Fall
depicts a cyclical earth or nature spirit who is about to descend into
the ground. He gently cradles a kernel, a seed, or a nut signalling his
eventual rebirth. If you look closely, you will notice the female homunculus
(Greek for "little person") present in the seed.
Fall is the
copper-red colour of earth and autumn and is finished with a real bronze
coating.
Fall is available
as well upon request as a limited edition custom casting in bronze.

The Story:
Consistent
with my philosophy, Fall represents the Buddhist and Hindu notion
there are no dualities-no ultimate difference between male and female,
sacred and profane, death and rebirth.
From a mythological
perspective, Fall is also a Yaksha, a tree spirit often described
in folktales from India. Yakshas are benevolent and my Fall evinces
a nurturing masculinity, a gentleness and vulnerability along with a
strength that is undeniable.
